I ran across a well-written piece on the Myth of Adolescence. I can remember having similar trapped thoughts when I was younger, but homeschooling was not as established as it is now. And so I progressed at pretty much the same pace as the people my age, and in the same areas.

It was originally the chance to loosen the reigns on our kids and see how far they could run, rather than any issues with the school environment, that made me jump at the chance to homeschool.
